We don't pray religiously. When we pray, we have a confident assurance that God hears us. And if we know that He hears us, than we know that we have what we requested.
Expect an answer when you call on the Lord (Jeremiah 33:3, Matthew 7:7-11, James 4:2, 1 Peter 3:12, Isaiah 65:24, Hebrews 11:6).
God does not store or collect prayers, He answers prayers. Settle that. If you are praying without expecting an answer, then don't pray. Your faith has to be targeted at something, set somewhere. You have to know what you're asking God for and have His Word to stand on. Then you can count it as done. What you don't expect, God cannot manifest.
