Day 1: Why We Pray & Fast
Fasting is a powerful tool the Lord has given the believer for victorious living. Fasting & prayer is not negotiable. Jesus said, "When you fast.."; He commanded us to. He said that He will reward you for your act of obedience and He will cause you to stand out.
Matthew 17:14-20
Reasons We Fast:
1) Obedience; Matthew 9:14-17
2) Power; Matthew 6:16-18
3) Express dependency on God; Hebrews 4:16, 2 Chronicles 20:1-12
Consecration prepares you for God's manifested presence; Joshua 3:5.
Consecration means to set yourself apart, holy to God. That is a choice and the time is now. It is God's will. Consecration is a decision to align your life with God's will, removing anything that hinders intimacy, obedience, or power. It removes the conflict of flesh and spirit. Consecration sharpens your spiritual sensitivity and prepares you for what God's about to do. No preparation is a limited perception of God's work. Consecration grants clarity in your decision making. It will keep you from blaming circumstances instead of submitting to God. Consecration protects you from spiritual contamination. You cannot walk closely with God while entertaining what distances you from Him. It guards your heart and protects you from spiritual dullness. It keeps your love for God pure.
