Day 2: Consecration Through Prayer & Fasting

Consecration is for spiritual alignment. It removes anything that hinders your intimacy or obedience to God. Consecration is a time of surrender and yielding; it's saying, "God, I belong to You. Do what You want to do, when You want to, how You want to. The plans of God have God's blessings attached to them.

Consecration is not about losing freedom. It's about gaining divine direction, God's protection, and power.

Consecration:

1) Is for preparation; Joshua 3:5

2) Aligns you with the will of God. It is God's will that you are consecrated; 1 Thess. 4:3

3) Brings clarity; it removes the conflict of flesh and spirit.

4) Brings protection from spiritual contamination; 2 Cor. 6:14-18. You cannot walk closely with God while entertaining what distances you from Him. It prevents compromise and spiritual dulness. What you tolerate will eventually dominate you.

5) Will increase spiritual authority and power in your life; 2 Timothy 2. Authority flows from obedience. When you yield to the Lord, you are empowered.

6) Deepens your intimacy with God; James 4:8

7) Brings renewal and transformation; Romans 12:1-2

Don't let someone who is doing nothing convince you out of this time of consecration, prayer and fasting and out of doing something for God.

Ephesians 3:20

When you draw near to God your joy is restored, your peace, and direction. Closeness to God always begins at surrender. You cannot live a transformed life without a surrendered life.
