THE POWER OF LOVE CHURCH

Sunday Morning Service

Sep 15, 2024    Pastor Sandy Garcia

We can see from scripture that anyone who sought the Lord wholeheartedly, they were heard by Him.

I Kings 17:1-16

Faith doesn't make sense. You cannot go by your natural senses. If you want to see the supernatural, you must trust the Lord. Faith in God says, "God is faithful".

2 Chronicles 16:9 God was seeking to prosper him but because his heart wasn't fully committed to the Lord, Asa received a troubling word from the Lord.

We must be the "them" who's heart is perfect. Perfect means loyal. God wants us seeking Him wholeheartedly. I John 5:21 warns about allowing anything in our lives that would take the place of God in our heart. We can't have a divided heart but serve the Lord with a full commitment, wholeheartedly.

Galatians 3:3 How did you start out in the Spirit and end up in the flesh? Asa started out wholehearted and the Lord caused him to prosper.

2 Chronicles 14:2-4

2 Chronicles 26:5 As long as Asa sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.

Matthew 6:33 Seek ye FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then He will add all these other things to you.

2 Chronicles 14:11-15

2 Chronicles 15:1-4

John 15:1-7

2 Chronicles 16:2-3, 7-9

Asa failed because he went from hearkening and seeking the Lord to paying people to help him. There is a blessing in seeking God first.

To seek the Lord means to desire, to seek or pursue earnestly; His presence, His fellowship, His kingdom, and His holiness.

Seeking the Lord involves:

1) Turning to the Lord with your whole heart, holding nothing back from Him with no reservation

Isaiah 55:6, Jeremiah 29:12-13

2) Hungering and thirsting for righteousness

Psalm 24:3-6, Isaiah 55:1

3) committing yourself firmly to doing God's will and abandoning all actions that offend God

4) believing in and relying on God as your ultimate helper

Hebrews 13:6, Hebrews 11:6

Psalm 37:5
