Prayer + Fasting Bible Reading Plan: Week 2

Prayer & Fasting Bible Reading Plan: Week 2 Discussion

Congratulations on making it to Week 2 of Prayer & Fasting!

How have you done with your Bible Reading Plan?
How have you done with your Fasting & Prayer?
Have you felt like the Bible Reading plan is helping you?
Feel free to share testimonies of what God is doing right now as a result of your seeking Him.

As we pass over into Week Two together, be encouraged! Know that we are believing with you for the things that you are requesting from God in His Word. Prayer is a relational and spiritual transaction with your heavenly Father. Remember that we inherit His promises through prayer by faith and patience. Learn how to submit yourself to what Father has willed for you in His Word without reducing or diminishing any or all of what He has promised. Always be first to worship, praise, and give thanks to the One who is more in love with you and concerned about every detail of your life than anyone else, your Heavenly Father.

Are you caught up with your Bible reading?
Here are some questions you can ask yourself as you read. You may share if you like, essentially these questions are designed to challenge you to go deeper with the Holy Spirit in your reading. Journaling the things that Father speaks to you is a great practice.
  1. When you read, do you notice any similarities or disconnects in your own life to what you are reading?
  2. Does your life look like what you're reading? How or why not?
  3. Do you feel you are being careful to observe and obey all you see in the Word?
  4. Are there any areas that you feel the Holy Spirit speaking to you about how you can make changes? Is it a mindset? Is it an attitude change? Are there any practical changes you can make?

Wow, when reading Mark chapter 4, I saw it in a new light! Mark chapter 4 is one of my favorites because Jesus says, if you don't understand this parable of the sower, how will you understand any other? One of the greatest revelations that the Holy Spirit has given me in my life, next to Jesus, is the importance of the Word. So I read this one often, but today I saw something else maybe you have already noticed. Jesus breaks up the parable into three parts. He does it in the parable, also in the explanation of good soil, and again when explaining the harvest of the Word on good soil. I see three types of soil: 1.) Falls along the path (the hearer doesn't hear or understand). 2.) Falls on rocky ground (the hearer doesn't receive it, take it, keep it). 3.) Falls on thorny ground (what the hearer heard is choked, the hearer doesn't do it for whatever reason). Good soil are those who: 1.) hear, understand. 2.) receive it, take it. 3.) do it. I see three types of Harvests from good soil: 1.) 30 fold for hearing. 2.) 60 fold (double) for hearing and receiving. 3.) 100 fold (triple with increase) for hearing, receiving, AND doing.
