Prayer + Fasting Bible Reading Plan: Week 1

Prayer & Fasting Bible Reading Plan: Week 1 Discussion

Welcome to week one of Prayer & Fasting for 2025!

We invite you to read the Word with us on a 21 day Bible Reading Plan that is customized by Pastor Sandy as we follow along with her livestream teachings during this time of prayer and fasting.

In the TPOLC app, when you click on the bible tab, there will be a toolbar with an calendar icon called "Plan". When you click on the plan, it is already customized for you. Click on the correct day, read the assigned reading passages, and click the button at the bottom of the passages to "Complete" your reading for that day.

You will get app notifications when Pastor Sandy goes live and to remind you to complete your assigned bible reading. When you click on your profile picture in the app, scroll down to "App settings", click on "notifications" and make sure you are subscribed to "Prayer & Fasting" notifications! Each week, we will post some questions for you here about our assigned reading to help you reflect on what you read. You do not have to participate in the discussions but you are welcome to share with us what the Lord is speaking to you. We encourage you to come reflect with us in a discussion as we read the Word of God together.

As we launch off in the first week of prayer and fasting, if you have not already done so, we encourage you to get organized and intentional to get the most out of these 21 days that you are setting aside for God.

Some tips going into Prayer & Fasting:
  • Declare your fast! Decide what type (fluids only, 6am-6pm, etc.)
  • Take time to sit before the Lord and know what you will be asking and believing Him for during this time. Be specific.
  • Find scripture to support your requests.
  • Don't ask flippantly or too quickly: meditate on those scriptures, fill yourself with faith, extinguish any doubt in you.
  • When you ask, take it! When you take it, praise Him for it!
  • Put together a worship playlist and dedicate time to worship the Lord.
  • If there is a specific topic in the Word that you want to increase knowledge on, this is the time to focus on it.
  • Start each day with thanking the Lord!
  • Read a chapter of Psalms and Proverbs each day.
  • Drink plenty of water, eat the Word of God, pray in the Holy Ghost, stay filled up with the livestream teachings, stay connected with us as we do this together! The questions here are designed to help you reflect on what God said. The discussions are designed to engage you. It's also fun to watch a group of believers seek the Lord together because the Lord will speak to us both individually as well as corporately through the group if people are engaged.

Jesus Christ I'm very excited to see TPOLC app. I love it. It's so conveniently organized with weekly and monthly planning. Also a great scriptural tool to follow on the 21 day Bible Reading Plan. I personally give God the thanks for our beautiful anointed and supportive Pastor Sandy Garcia. Thank you Pastor Sandy for your dedication of time and hard work to create the useful materials. ??

Isaiah 58 is the best passage on fasting! Father shows us what His desire is here. We don’t get to approach God however we want to, but we are not in the dark.. He gave us His Word to know Him! Isaiah 58 shows us that if we love God, we show our love for Him directly proportional to how we love others. Not just the stranger who is easy to love because we don’t know them and when we show up to help we look like the super hero.. Father says love your blood (your family, those closest to you, those that are the hardest to love because you’re with them all the time). Isaiah 58 is such a great chapter to go to and get a mental reset going into fasting and prayer. What breakthroughs we will see when we focus on fulfilling the one, new, and only commandment in the New Testament rather than focusing on asking for that promotion. The promotion will come and everything else mentioned in Isaiah 58 when we do it like God says! He’ll make us ride on the high places of the Earth.. Hallelujah!

Not only I’m an enjoy the app but the engagement during this fast, the reading plans and suggestions. I love that we get to have our personal reading and plug in on one accord with church family.

n

nTodays reading Isaiah 58 and Matthew 6 for me ;

nBoth passages address the heart behind our worship and service. Isaiah 58 calls us to act with justice and mercy, to to know what God desire from us, not merely rituals, while Matthew 6 reminds us to do so humbly and in secret, seeking God’s approval rather than man’s. Together, they challenges us to live authentically for God today (serving others selflessly while developing a private, personal relationship with Him.) For me they both leads to spiritual and practical blessings, shining God’s light in our lives and the world. To be a display of God’s glory.
