Matthew 15:10

Listen and understand.

Matthew 13:23

Good ground is a heart that hears the Word, understands it, and produces.

Romans 14:17

The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy.

Romans 12:1-19

Do all you can to live in peace with everyone.

What is peace?

Peace is harmony in relationships or freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions. Peace should be the hallmark of a Godly person. God is the Author of personal peace and peace among men. Peace is a fruit of the Spirit and an evidence of Him working in our lives.

Three Areas of Peace in our Lives:

1) With God

Romans 5:1 - You are justified and made right with God

All Peace begins with Christ.

Colossians 1:21 - Sin once separated you from God.

Isaiah 57:20 The wicked are tossed like the sea and there is no peace.

Romans 8:28 God causes ALL things to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

Proverbs 16:7 When your life pleases the Lord, He will cause even your enemies to be at peace with you.

Peace with God is the beginning of all peace. We must pursue what makes for peace and depend on the Holy Spirit.

2) Within ourselves

Peace is a state in which there is no war or fighting. Without the peace of God, we are in a constant fight within ourselves. Your mind and spirit war with each other. Even when your heart is right with God there can be many disturbers of peace in the world. Get in the Word.

John 16:33 Jesus said, "in Me you will have peace"

Anytime you experience troubles that try to take your peace, remember as a child of God, there is no uncertainty. Jesus promised we would face troubles, but be of good cheer because He has already overcome the world. Ephesians 1:22

Matthew 10:29-31 Don't worry. No detail is too small or minute that it escapes Father's eye or attention.

Antidote for anxiety = Philippians 4:6

I Peter 5:7-9 The word devil means accuser or slanderer.

Only when we experience peace with God by bringing our anxieties to Him, then we can make peace with others.

3) With others

Galatians 5:15-25 Peace is a fruit of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit will help you and show you where to go and what to do.

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers.

Romans 12:18 Have you really done all you can to make peace?

Romans 14:19 Let us pursue the things that make peace and the things by which we may edify others.

Hebrews 12:14 Pursue peace and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.

I Peter 3:10 Keep your tongue from speaking evil, search for peace and seek to maintain it.

God doesn't do it for you, you need to pursue peace.
