THE POWER OF LOVE CHURCH

Wednesday Night Service

Romans 14:17

The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Galatians 5:22-23

There is no law against the fruit of the Spirit.

II Timothy 3:1-2

If your circumstances are bad, righteousness and peace do not disappear for the lovers of God. Happiness and joy are not the same. Joy comes from God irregardless of circumstances.

Philippians 2:3

Joy will not come when you look at yourself. Look at Jesus. Take on the character of God.

Revelation 5:11

When they were surrounding the throne, they were looking at Jesus; the Lamb slain before the foundations of the earth. Religion looks at themselves, relationship looks at Jesus.

Psalm 25:37

Real spiritual joy will come to you when you die to yourself. It is not a natural happiness. Joy is not natural, it is eternal.

Psalm 35:27

Joy comes when we take pleasure in God's righteousness, not in ourselves. God takes pleasure in your prosperity.

Kindness is a sincere desire for the happiness of others. Goodness is the action that's calculated to advance that happiness. Kindness is the inner disposition created by the Holy Spirit that causes us to be sensitive to others.

None of these things cost us anything except a sincere and genuine interest in others. Apart from God's grace, most people tend to be naturally concerned with their own needs and interests. But a person who has grown in the grace of kindness has expanded his thinking outside of himself and his own interests and has cultivated a genuine interest in the well-being of those around him.

Goodness involves deeds that are helpful to others. It describes actions that are beneficial to others. The best practical definition of goodness is given in the life and character of Jesus.

Acts 10:38

When we die to ourselves and take up the character of Jesus, we take on His traits. We will stay sensitive to the needs of those around us. You don't have to have a ministry to be good to those around you.

Luke 6:32-38

If you give for what you get out of it, what kind of charity is that? Even the tax collectors do that. Love your enemies. God is kind to me so I can be kind to others.

Ephesians 2:1-10

Titus 3:1-5

We didn't deserve the kindness of God, but He takes us in anyway. He is kind to the good and bad, the thankful and the ungrateful, the obedient and the rebellious. We too must be kind to all.

When you die to yourself, you don't get hurt anymore.

We are created in Christ Jesus for the purpose of doing good works.

I Timothy 5:9-10

We are to be known by our good deeds. The most obvious place to do good works is on your job.

When you do your job unto the Lord, your attitude will change.
