God's Goodness is Reserved for Us
God is eager yearning to do His children good. As children of God, we should never settle for less than what is rightfully ours—our identity in Christ, seeking God's presence, and trusting in His promises without fear. God's Word is our legal right to protection and assurance during difficult times—we are called to wait on the Lord in His Word until we see the manifestation of His promises in our life.
Matthew 15:21-28 about the Canaanite woman.
- The woman's identity was a Canaanite (outsider).
- Jesus was focused on Israel.
- The woman's faith was seen through her persistent cry for mercy despite being ignored.
- She refused to be offended—She responded that even dogs eat crumbs from their master's table.
Children of God
- Healing is described as "Children's bread," that is entitlement for believers.
- Christians should stop acting like outsiders; they are citizens of God's kingdom.
- Believers must recognize their rightful place at God's table.
Assurance from Psalm 27
1. God is Light & Salvation
- Trusting in God eliminates fear (Psalm 27:1).
2. Confidence Amidst Adversity
- Enemies will stumble; confidence comes from faith (Psalm 27:2).
3. Desiring God’s Presence
- Seeking closeness with God above all else (Psalm 27:4).
4. God Hiding Us
- He protects during trouble (Psalm 27:5).
5. Firm Assurance
- Belief leads to strength against despair (Psalm 27:13).
Waiting on the Lord
1. Active Waiting
- Serving while waiting; faith requires action.
2. Renewed Strength
- Those who wait upon the Lord will be empowered (Isaiah 40).
3. - Worship God with joy because of His goodness.
Navigating Difficult Times
Evil Does Not Overcome Believers
- Assurance that believers are not left vulnerable amidst worldly chaos.
Trials are an Opportunity to see the Goodness of God in Manifestation
- Even during famine or difficulty, believers can exhibit abundance through faith.
As children of God, we must lay ahold of our identity in Christ, actively seek His presence, trust Him through trials, serve while waiting for answers, and confidently display His goodness amid challenges—we are never forsaken by Him regardless of circumstances encountered in life or in this world.
